Ian Lawson
Ian joined QCF as a non-executive director in 2000. He first assisted the then senior partner Chris Appleby on a £30m start up in the motor sport sector here in the North East. Two years later he became a partner in the firm and took further non exec roles for 3i, Brett Oils and HWR Racing. Ian currently acts as non exec Chairman for GRL. He has significant experience in the SME engineering and distribution sector. Ian’s first company, Ramsey Services Limited, started in 1977 and is still operating today in the aerospace, offshore and defence sectors. In 1990, he was runner up in the Daily Mail Young Business Awards.
